If you think wearable computers sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, think back to days not so long ago when a touch-screen phone seemed like an impossibility. Let’s check out a few of the coolest products currently being developed:
- Forget expensive designer jewelry from Tiffany’s—what if you could wear your computer around your neck like a necklace? Using modified Android software, the device can hang delicately from your neck, off your shirt collar, or can be clipped to a bag. It has a multi-touch screen, 32 GB of storage and can be connected via either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
- Lose your way often? Invest in a pair of GPS shoes! Complete with a GPS chip, microcontrollers and an antenna, the left shoe points you in the right direction with a series of LED lights and the right one tracks your progress to your destination. Never get lost again!
- Crave the same touch screen in your presentations that you have on your tablet? Microsoft’s got your back…or your shoulder, in this case. Using the popular Kinect technology, this wearable contraption projects a motion-sensing environment anywhere you choose.
