Helpful IT Trends from the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show

  • With the ever-blurring lines between personal and business electronics, we thought it appropriate to cover some trends that will matter to businesses from the upcoming 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. Here are just a few CES products highlighted this year that will impact business IT:
  • Entertainment Hubs (aka mobile workforce hubs)—Managing your Internet apps, photos, videos and multiple screens is becoming as common at home as it is at work. Businesses will need to figure out a way to enable (not to mention monitor) their employees’ hubs in the same way we are able to do at home.
  • Internet-enabled Cars—The latest car models are more technologically savvy than anything we’ve ever seen. If you have employees on the road, what technology do they need to be productive? How will IT manage that?
  • Smart Glasses—Some are already predicting the end of the smartphone and believe that within a few years, we will all be wearing our devices. Managing the myriad devices your company most likely has is difficult enough—how will the IT organization manage wearable devices too?
