BNMC Assists Leominster Public Schools with WiFi and Network upgrade

BNMC is proud to announce that they have been selected by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (previously MassIT) and Leominster Public Schools to upgrade the WiFi and Networking infrastructure at all the Leominster Elementary Schools through the state Digial Connections Partnership School Grant Wireless Solution.  Together with K&M Communication who will do all the wiring and cabling work, BNMC will work closely with the Leominster IT team to procure all new hardware and software and then configure and implement the switches and access points along with managing the entire project.

The Leominster School Department was informed in March that it would get a $436,143 Digital Connections Partnership Schools Grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It would be used to upgrade the technological infrastructure at five schools: Fall Brook Elementary School ($105,930), Frances Drake Elementary School ($102,942), Johnny Appleseed Elementary School ($96,109), Northwest Elementary School ($95,485) and Priest Street School ($34,676).

For Superintendent Paula Deacon, the recent announcement of a grant worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to improve technology at five of the city’s public schools is a dream come true.

“I’ve been a principal for eight and a half years, and this is something our schools have struggled with so much,” she said at a press conference in April. “So to know that this is actually happening, the timing of it — this is like Christmas Day.”
